Dr. Scott Bonar: AFS President!
Let’s congratulate Arizona/New Mexico AFS’s own Dr. Scott Bonar as the new American Fisheries Society President!
If you have spent any amount of time with fish in the desert Southwest, then you have likely run in to or been impacted by the work of Scott Bonar! Scott has been a professor at the University of Arizona and the Unit Leader of the USGS Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit for 20 years; mentoring dozens of future fisheries scientists and leaving an indelible mark on this community . Scott’s expertise, vision, and leadership (and inexhaustible work-ethic) will be a valuable asset to the American Fisheries Society and we can’t wait to see the impact he has on this already great organization.
Congratulations Scott!
Not only was Dr. Scott Bonar sworn in as president of AFS in October, but he also has a featured paper in the North American Journal of Fisheries Management with former graduate student Joy Price Baker. Check it out… https://afspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/nafm.10337
